Faith + Creativity: The Bible Verse Bookmark Contest

Last spring as a part of our Library’s Read Across America Week programming, our librarians introduced a Bible Verse Bookmark Contest-inviting students to engage with both reading and Scripture in a meaningful way. Students were asked to select a Bible verse that resonated with them and design a bookmark that visually represented its message.

Ten winners were chosen, with each winner’s bookmark being professionally printed and distributed to visitors in the library. The first contest was such a success, it was included in our recent Read Across America Week once again!

Entries came in from across grade levels, and the designs and attention to detail was impressive. The entries were voted on by faculty and staff, and the winners were selected based on creativity and how effectively the design connected to the chosen verse. Our winners were:

Director of Library Services, Mrs. Sara Casey, shared, “The overall quality and thoughtfulness of submissions made it clear that students took the assignment seriously. It’s a small project with a lasting impact—something students can use daily as they read, while being reminded of a verse that matters to them.”

Winning bookmarks will be printed and shared within the school beginning this month, allowing student work to continue circulating and encouraging others in their reading and faith throughout the year.
